I’m an architectural designer by training, but would consider myself more of a storyteller. During my academic and professional careers I have traveled across Canada, The United States, and Europe, where I was fortunate enough to have met a number of immensely talented people who have shaped my views on design, and the way I see the world. These experiences, in various forms, have found their way into the body of work that you see today.
My artistic explorations span multiple fields and mediums, but if I were to classify my work, I’d say they are (at least in part) connected by an overarching theme – they each speculate on humanity’s relationship with our natural environment. We now live in an age where the relationship between nature and man are rapidly changing. For the first time in human history we are actively shaping the environmental systems around us on a planetary scale, causing repercussions well beyond our scope of understanding. My work attempts to imagine worlds that allow us to ask these big questions – questions about our role within this complex system – in order to consider our actions and their implications on this planet we call home.
When I’m not drawing you can usually find me designing buildings, running a reclaimed furniture studio, or reading books about fantastical worlds and alternate futures.
